Maui Wall Candy is the creation of software engineer and photographer, Kris Nelson.

Kris and his wife first visited Maui in 2006 and immediately fell in love with the island’s beauty and the Aloha spirit.

After annual trips back to the island, and meeting so many great people along the way, Kris began sharing his experiences and images online in various forms through blogging and other projects.

By 2012, Kris’ Maui portfolio consisted of numerous websites, blogs, eBooks, Apps, you name it.

But aside from all those other resources sharing the magic of Maui, there wasn’t one primary place to take the Aloha from your screen and put it right on your wall.

Until now.

Relaunch of Maui Wall Candy

The original concept for the Maui Wall Candy site launched back in 2008. At the time, there wasn’t a lot of “umph” behind it, and the site was later put on hiatus.

Five years later, Kris’ portfolio has expanded exponentially, as well as the dramatic growth in social media and mobile technologies in such a relatively short time.

So, riding the momentum of a successful 2012 and excited about bringing together a mobile App version of Maui Wall Candy to the iPhone and iPad in the spring, it was time to bring back the original concept and make it 100x better.

More to Come

Over the first half of 2013, there are many exciting changes planned for completion. While this website and it’s upcoming mobile App are on the top of that list, the fruits of that labor will also bring updates to many of the existing Maui offering’s that Kris manages today as well.

If you’re a fan of Maui or of Kris’ work, you’ll definitely want to stay tuned over the coming months.
